Favorite Collections & Street Style Looks: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2015

Favorite Collections & Street Style Looks:
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2015

Fashion Week is the greatest time of the year for any fashionista. Street style during fashion week is becoming just as important, if not more important, as the designers’ collections. Most of us are not lucky enough to snag a seat in the fashion shows but the Internet has made it very easy for anyone in the world to view the latest trends walking down the runway. These are some of my favorite collections and street style looks from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week!

Collections:
1) Diane von Furstenberg- 2015 Pre-Fall Ready-to-Wear
This collection was my favorite of the four. All of the pieces look to be very 70s inspired, which is not unusual for Diane von Furstenberg. When von Furstenberg started her business, her wrap dress quickly became a staple in a woman’s wardrobe. 41 years later at New York Fashion Week, the wrap dress was still my favorite part of the collection. When worn with tall boots, they look ultra stylish and flattering, yet comfortable.

2) Elie Saab- Spring 2015 Couture
These gowns are my absolute favorite. Not many people have heard of this Lebanese designer but in the fashion world he is known for his red carpet gowns and great attention to beading and lace details. The gowns from this collection were no different and just as beautiful. Solid, nudes, light pinks and greys were the big colors of this collection.

3) Elizabeth and James- Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear
This collection was very different for Elizabeth and James. Designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen said that it’s a lot sexier than past collections and is a little inspired by their other minimalist, more expensive line, The Row. Most Elizabeth and James collections are tomboyish and have boxy cuts. This collection is much more feminine and beautifully professional.

4) Jenny Packham- Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear
I first heard of Jenny Packham when the Duchess of Cambridge wore one of her gowns in May 2012. I loved the dark colors, lace details and metallic skirts from this collection. Packham’s clothing and gowns are sexy and classy at the same time. The lace and velvet details made me very excited for fall fashion (only 212 days!).
