Clinique Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup Review

Clinique Stay-Matte Oil-Free
Makeup Review

Back in March, I saw a commercial advertising a free gift with purchase from Clinique in Macy’s. I was in need of a new foundation and decided to try one from the brand. After researching, I had a few in mind but the woman helping me at the Clinique counter said that because of my oily skin, the Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup would be my best bet. She color matched me (2 Alabaster) and I got my free gift of two makeup bags, travel sized moisture surge moisturizer, dramatically different moisturizing lotion +, a lipstick/lip gloss duo, a sample mascara and an eye shadow/blush palette. That’s a pretty good free gift!

Spring Break Beauty Haul

Spring Break Beauty Haul

Drugstore:

L'Oreal Paris Visible Lift Blur Blush in Soft Pink
I’ve never tried a cream blush before but I’ve read they are great for oily skin. I don’t remember what channel on YouTube I saw this blush being used, but after I watched the video I wrote this product down on my phone so I wouldn’t forget to buy it.

L'Oreal Paris Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara, Waterproof in Blackest Black
I always need to use waterproof mascara because I cry easily when I laugh.

February Boxycharm

February Boxycharm
February’s Boxycharm finally came! This month I was a little disappointed in one of the products. The box came with a nail polish from ncLA called “Heart Attack” which would have been very cute to wear on Valentine’s Day, but I received the box on February 18th.
I’m excited to try the Jing Ai Velvet Lip Jewel and play with the Modern Minerals Duo Fiber Mini Round Brush. The face mask from Mullein & Sparrow seems really interesting. The mask comes in a powder form and you mix that with water to create a paste. I’ve never seen a mask like this, so I’m excited to try it!

January Boxycharm

January Boxycharm
For the last two years, I have been a subscriber to both Birchbox and Ipsy beauty boxes. These boxes are $10 each and offer 4 to 5 small samples of makeup, skincare and hair care products. The samples were so small that I could usually only use them once. Using a product one time will not give you a full understanding of how it works with your skin or hair. Because I felt I was not getting my money’s worth, I decided to cancel both subscriptions and sign up for Boxycharm. Boxycharm is a $21 monthly beauty box with full-size or deluxe size samples of makeup and beauty products.

Favorite Drugstore Makeup

I think the majority of my makeup collection consists of drugstore makeup. Every time I’m in Target or Wal-Mart, I just can’t resist going to the makeup aisle and seeing what’s new. I’ve found that a lot of drugstore makeup is just as good, if not better than high-end makeup that I’ve tried and it’s less than half the price! These are my top five favorite drugstore makeup products.
